EI news: Chipdrive guards personal information

A small USB device allowing the user to control access to sensitive data and personal information needed for transactions on a PC or notebook has been introduced by SCM Microsystems of Ismaning, Germany.
To operate the device, users simply insert it into a USB slot on the PC and enter a PIN to authenticate the transaction. Once in place, the device will automatically answer login password requests, supply access to personal data and fill in online forms, thus streamlining online shopping and other interactions with web-based services.
