News: Irish companies believe in KM

A RECENT study found that 75 per cent of corporations in Ireland believe KM plays a significant role in improving a company’s competitive advantage. Irish companies are now acknowledging the benefits of moving towards a knowledge economy.
Recent studies have found that by 2020, 60 per cent of jobs will require skills that only 20 per cent of the workforce possesses. Some companies will lay off employees with outdated skills, then hire new ones but the cost is estimated at approximately one and one-half times an employee’s annual salary.
