News: Visit and meet German Champions

A KM study tour to visit as many as 10 German knowledge-driven organisations and meet with their KM champions has been scheduled for 1-5 December. Expecting that most of the group will be from outside Germany, all presentations will be in English.
Jerry Ash is making plans to be on this tour with a future special edition of Inside Knowledge in mind.
In addition to the site visits, the tour organisers plan workshops and opportunities for face-to-face knowledge sharing and networking for participants who make the full tour. Others may choose to board the buses for a day or more along the route. Details of the route were not complete at the time of this report.
However, visits do include Atlas Elektronik whose leader was named knowledge manager of the year in 2003; Airbus which won the Corporate Award for Excellence in 2007; GTZ whose KM leader was named KM of the year in 2007; BMWi/Fraunhofer Society, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology; Siemens, chosen by APQC Best Practice Partner in 2007 featuring the use of KM in mergers and acquisitions; INA Schaeffler Group; and the German Health Group which represents 61 hospitals.
Full participants will also network with members of the German KM Association at an evening event.
