Productivity drain
Collaboration and social tools designed to increase productivity are costing businesses £57.8bn per year in lost productivity.
A survey of more than 500 international organisations commissioned by email software provider harmon.ie has found that almost 60 per cent of work interruptions are caused by the use of email, social networks, text messaging and instant messaging.
Apparently, 45 per cent of employees work only 15 minutes or less without interruption, and 53 per cent waste at least one hour every day die to various distractions.
